This group covers the other places gardeners shop and the businesses that turned up next to garden centers on the map: gift and home decor stores, pet and grocery stores with seasonal plants, craft and antique shops, and local services that do not fit a gardening category. Supermarkets and home stores are useful for a quick bag of potting soil or a pot of herbs; a nursery is the better choice for advice and plants suited to your yard.

Cary is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Cary is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across North Carolina's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

After living in the Cary area for nearly a decade, I'm genuinely surprised it took me this long to discover Feeders. It's a rare find. Campbell, the manager, was exceptionally knowledgeable, welcoming, and generous with their time, and the rest of the staff reflected that same standard of professionalism and genuine enthusiasm. It's immediately apparent that the people here care deeply about both the animals and the customers they serve. What impressed me most was the balance the store strikes. It has the warmth and personal attention of an independent neighborhood business, yet it's stocked every bit as well as the large national pet store chains that begin with a "P." The small animal selection, in particular, was outstanding and far exceeded my expectations. In an age where so many retailers feel interchangeable, Feeders has a distinct identity built on expertise, thoughtful service, and a genuine passion for the hobby. I only wish I'd found it years ago. Five stars without hesitation.

The workers are very kind and helpful and the store is always very very clean! The dog washing salons are a great price ($10-unlimited time) and always stocked with anything you could possibly need and I have returned multiple times to use them. Their animals look happy and well taken care of. I would love to see a larger rodent supplies section but other than that, no complaints!

Its always clean. The employees are very nice. There are lots of varieties for pet food. My favorite thing to do when im buying pet food is saying hello to Momo and Appa ( the ferrets) and seeing what kitty is up for adoption

This is a really great spot! We’re surprised with how little we could find about it. We wanted a spot to wash our dog and it was $15. There wasn’t a time limit and it had some really great supplies! Plus, our lil baby was able to get a treat after!

I have loved this store for years. I was worried when I saw it was changing to Feeders Pet Supply, but it has turned out to be really nice. The animals are very well taken care of and adorable!
